Here are our recommendations for areas to stay in + a guide of the neighbourhoods below.
Here are our favorite neighbourhoods:
Roncesvalles – A charming, slightly out-of-the-way neighbourhood with a relaxed, village-like vibe.
Liberty Village – A modern, semi-docklands district full of condos and young professionals.
Ossington – A lively hotspot packed with some of the city's best restaurants, bars, and nightlife.
Dundas West – Similar energy to Ossington but with a slightly edgier, more chaotic feel.
Queen West – Trendy, artistic, and busy, with tons of shops, cafes, and nightlife.
West Queen West – A more stylish, design-focused stretch of Queen with galleries, boutiques, and cool cafés.
Kensington Market – A vibrant, eclectic pocket with incredible food and culture, though a bit sketchy at times.
Fort York – Condo-heavy but super accessible, with lots of young people and quick access to the waterfront.
Fashion District – Central and walkable, mixing old warehouses with newer lofts and nightlife.
Downtown – Very hit-or-miss depending on the specific block, so best to double-check anything here.
Old Toronto – Historic and central, with a mix of charming streets, dense housing, and classic Toronto character.
Danforth – Toronto’s Greek Town; great food and very safe, but further east from the main action.
Annex – Leafy, student-heavy, and walkable, with lots of cafés and Victorian homes.
Harbord Village – A small, residential pocket between the Annex and downtown with cozy restaurants and a quiet feel.
Yorkville – High-end, luxury shopping and dining—Toronto’s version of Collins Street vibes.
Leslieville / Queen East / Riverdale / Woodbine Beach – Laid-back and more residential, with bigger houses and cheaper stays, though a bit removed from the core.
Bloor West – Family-friendly and pleasant, but some parts are a little far out, so worth double-checking.
Christie Pits – A relaxed, residential neighbourhood anchored by a big park and great Korean food nearby.
Korea Town – Casual, vibrant strip known for Korean restaurants, cafés, and bars.
China Town – Bustling, busy, and full of amazing cheap eats.
Little Italy – A fun, social area with lots of restaurants, bars, and patios.
Little Portugal – A lively neighbourhood blending old-school Portuguese spots with cool new bars and cafés.

Hop in an Uber straight into the city, or
Catch the UP Express, a super handy train that takes you from the airport right to Union Station downtown in about 25 minutes.

If you’re coming from anywhere in the Golden Horseshoe, the GO Train is a dream. Find your closest station, hop on, and it’ll bring you straight to Union Station.
